The Wessex Salon Culinaire 2012

MCS supported the highly successful Wessex Salon this year at Brockenhurst College in the New Forest, sponsoring a class dedicated to induction cooking.

Four second and third year students from colleges around the country took part, producing superb food using just a CookTek twin hob model MC2502F, and two induction compatible pans.

Their brief was:

20 minutes to produce two portions of bowl food, suitable for a main course, using only two pans, and no more than 10 ingredients excluding salt, pepper and oil.

Winner Marzena Nowakowska, trainee chef at the Crown Moran (pictured being presented with her prize from our National Sales Manager Peter Rigby), received a Cooper Atkins thermocouple handheld temperature monitoring unit, worth more than £150.

Several of the competitors hadn't used induction hobs previously, but all acknowledged that induction cookers are the way forward in a busy catering kitchen.
