MCS supported the highly successful Wessex Salon this year at Brockenhurst College in the New Forest, sponsoring a class dedicated to induction cooking.

Four second and third year students from colleges around the country took part, producing superb food using just a CookTek twin hob model MC2502F, and two induction compatible pans. |

Their brief was: 20 minutes to produce two portions of bowl food, suitable for a main course, using only two pans, and no more than 10 ingredients excluding salt, pepper and oil. |

Winner Marzena Nowakowska, trainee chef at the Crown Moran (pictured being presented with her prize from our National Sales Manager Peter Rigby), received a Cooper Atkins thermocouple handheld temperature monitoring unit, worth more than £150. |

Several of the competitors hadn't used induction hobs previously, but all acknowledged that induction cookers are the way forward in a busy catering kitchen. |
